The can body is made of a patented multilayer beverage board which has been developed to be used for every kind of beverages, while the cap is still made of aluminium.
Currently used filling lines only need simple modifications to process the cans as standard aluminium pull up can tops are used. This newly introduced production system saves costs not only because cardboard is cheaper than aluminium, but also because it is lighter and easier to transport.
Also cans in multilayer cardboard keep the drinks fresh for longer than classical aluminum ones.
