Andrew Ross is a young UK designer whose Bone Project produced a range of objects out of cow bones, including packaging. The Bone Project has discovered ways to use bone when it’s a waste material. He designed BoneLAB as a battery capsule as a proposal to prevent battery pollution after its end life cycle. Bone possesses unique chemical properties and existing research proposes that ground bone can be used to remediate soil contaminated with heavy metals. However, it should be possible to use whole bone to absorb the toxins released by electronic products, and batteries, upon their disposal.
