A sector is a mathematical tool invented by Galileo Galilei, precursor of the calculation rulers which accompanied the technicians until the last quarter of 20th century. A double box makes an “english type” sector, totally functional, and also a container for the compass necessary for its use. It was developed as an institutional gift.
